Hello MAGIC Listeners,
Lately, my boyfriend and I have been taking small adventures every chance we get. Thus, I thought I’d talk about them and some of my favorite places we’ve been.
First, this past weekend we explored Fort Macon. Honestly, one of my favorites. The beach was amazing, less crowded, fun to walk, and lots of seashells. The big rock jetty is cool to see. We got some great pictures from it, and it lets you see down into the water. My only disappointment was not going earlier in the day! We spent most of our time walking the beach and exploring other places. Thus, we didn’t get to tour the actual Fort. However, we plan to go back and check it out one of these days!
Second, we’ve spent some time exploring the Croatan National Forest. Now, I’ve heard they are trying to crack down on people going in there, and am confused as to why. It’s a national forest. You should be able to explore it, even if it’s just designated trails. However, I was not expecting the Great Lake to be as big as it is. I know it’s called Great Lake but I thought it would be smaller for some reason. Still cool to see and check out.
Lastly, I’ve spent quite a bit of time at Emerald Isle. The pier and the point are both really pretty and cool to check out. I want to spend more time exploring the point and possibly walking the other side. I’ve also heard there might be some good paddleboarding out that way, and want to find it.
Overall, we’ve mostly explored beaches and national forests, but I’d like to start looking for places to paddleboard. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Otherwise, hopefully, as the weather continues getting warmer, you have a chance to explore the gorgeous ENC.
Have a beautiful day ENC!
