Hello MAGIC Listeners,
Earlier this week we finished going through weird laws across the US. Every day for the past 50 days, I’ve chosen a new state and told you some weird laws in that state. Being that we’ve gone through all states, I figured I would give a recap on some of the weirdest ones and a few new ones.
- In Arizona, it’s illegal for a donkey to sleep in a bathtub.
- In Arkansas, it’s illegal to honk your horn near a sandwich shop after 9 p.m.
- In Connecticut, a pickle must be able to bounce in order to be sold.
- Honestly, I have never tried bouncing a pickle and now I want to.
- In Florida, parking fees must be paid for elephants, goats, and alligators tied to parking meters.
- Like, I know this law was created because of Circus animals but how did this even get brought up?
- In Kentucky, a woman cannot marry the same man four times.
- Why would you even want to go through this process that many times for one person?
- In Missouri, it’s illegal to wrestle a bear.
- In Montana, it’s illegal to give a rat as a present.
- Honestly, I did not know this one.
- In Nevada, it’s illegal to sit on sidewalks.
- In North Carolina, it’s illegal to play drunk bingo.
- I have never done it, but it sounds like it would be a hoot.
- In Oklahoma, it’s illegal to trip a horse.
- In Oregon, it’s illegal to go hunting in a cemetery.
- This sounds creepy! What are you hunting for? Zombies?
- In South Dakota, it’s illegal to sleep in the cheese factory.
- But cheese is so good?!? Also, this law just makes me think of the movie The Back-up Plan.
Overall, we have some weird laws throughout the US. All of which can be found by googling weird laws in each state. Some are still enforced, while many have been forgotten about or redacted. What was the weirdest law to you? Do you have a favorite?
Have a beautiful day ENC!
-Your girl, Haileigh Montana
